How We Actually Test the Games We Recommend
People sometimes ask if we really play these games or just copy the store page. We really play them. It's slower and less efficient, which is exactly why the recommendations are worth reading.
Step one is the airplane-mode test. If a game can't function offline, it never appears on this site, full stop. Step two is time. We give each game a few sessions across a few days, because plenty of games are charming for ten minutes and hollow by day three.
We also track the annoyances. How often does it ask for money? How pushy are the ads? Does it try to guilt you into a daily login? Those details rarely show up in the marketing, but they decide whether a game stays on your phone.
Only after all that do we write the review and settle on a rating. The number isn't scientific, it's our honest gut reaction after living with the game. If we changed our minds later, we'd rather update the piece than pretend.
